If I had to learn Polish from scratch, here's what I'd do:

Step 1: Get a teacher.

I know this may not be what you want to hear. And yes, you CAN learn Polish on your own. But because it's such a difficult language to learn (and likely very different from your native tongue), it’s likely to be a long and bumpy journey solo. A teacher can guide you through those tricky grammar rules, correct your pronunciation, and motivate you.

Step 2: Start speaking right away.

I don't care if you only know 5 words and can barely put together a sentence. Try. Implement every new word you learn right away. You need to start implementing the things you learn in conversion as soon as you possibly can.

If you don't have anyone who you can chat with in Polish, you can find a language exchange partner. You can use Facebook groups or a platform like iTalki.

Step 3: Listen to the Polish radio or podcasts.

Even if it’s all gibberish at first, don’t worry! Listening to Polish helps your brain adjust to the sounds and rhythms of the language. Over time, you’ll catch more and more words, even if you don’t fully understand them yet.

Step 4: Watch Polish movies or TV shows.

If you're in Poland, start watching Polish entertainment shows like Taniec z gwiazdami or Mam talent. They don't come with subtitles but are fairly easy to understand, even if you only get half of what they're saying. If not, Netflix has a ton of Polish movies and series that you can watch with subtitles.

This is pretty much what I did to learn English and Spanish, which I now speak on a native level. So, if I had to learn Polish, this is what I'd do.
